A combination of fault-finding and system upgrades was undertaken across several areas of the yacht’s marine ekectrics. One of the key installations was a resettable pulse counter connected to the bilge system, allowing the owner to monitor bilge pump activity while away from the vessel and providing greater awareness of any unexcepted water ingress or system activation. Troubleshooting and repairs were also completed on the shore power side of the electrical system, restoring safe and reliable operations while connected to marina power.

Additional upgrades included the installation of a repeater ST6000+s autopilot control unit on the flybridge.

This was integrated into the vessel’s SeaTalk 1 network to improve helm accessibility and navigation control from the upper steering position. Deck lighting was also installed to improve visibility and safety around the vessel during low-light conditions.

This project was particularly satisfying due to the variety of work involved, combining detailed electrical fault-finding with practical system upgrades that improved both safety and day-to-day usability onboard. Supporting owners in maintaining dependable marine electrical systems is one of the most rewarding aspects of working as a boat electrician.
