Electrical work undertaken
The new owner of this Beneteau 40 sailing yacht was looking to keep the vessel on a floating mooring for extended periods. The owner wanted to ensure batteries were well maintained and contacted me as a marine electrician to complete a solar panel install.
I installed a 100W solar panel from Photonic Universe, combined with a Victron Energy MPPT controller and remote display. As part of the install, all three battery banks – leisure, start, and bow thruster – were upgraded to AGM batteries. This included increased Amp Hours for the leisure battery bank to ensure they were not cycled down below 50%.
