Electrical work undertaken
As a marine electrician, I completed electrics work on a Beneteau First sailing yacht, installing a new lithium leisure battery system supported by both an AC charger and a DC-to-DC charger. The AC charger was configured to charge the lead-acid start battery, with a dedicated DC-DC charger linking the start and lithium banks to provide safe, controlled charging while underway. The original alternator-to-leisure charging circuit was removed to protect the lithium battery. Battery monitors for both banks were installed, giving real-time visibility of usage.
