Electrical work undertaken It was a pleasure to work on this Sadler sailing yacht as a marine electrician. The vessel was experiencing severe battery depletion, which I traced to a parasitic current draw caused by a corroded alternator. After resolving the fault, I installed a new shore-power system with a Mastervolt AC battery charger to provide reliable charging when the boat is alongside. As the yacht lies for most of the year on a swinging mooring, I also fitted a Uniteck 100-watt solar panel on a Uniteck tilting bracket. This was combined with the wind generator through a Marlec HRDI controller.
